There’s a version of people that exists only at the beginning.

사람에게는 오직 시작에만 존재하는 모습이 있다.

They notice everything.

그때의 그들은 모든 것을 알아차린다.

The way you phrase things. The offhand comments you don’t repeat. The stories you don’t think matter.

당신이 말을 고르는 방식, 다시 꺼내지 않는 사소한 말들, 중요하지 않다고 여긴 이야기들까지.

They collect it all like it’s important.

마치 그것들이 중요한 것처럼 전부 모아둔다.

Because, at that stage, it is.

그 시점에서는, 실제로 중요하기 때문이다.

Attention is effort.

관심은 노력이다.

And effort is a form of desire.

그리고 노력은 욕망의 한 형태다.

People like to call that love.

사람들은 그것을 사랑이라고 부른다.

It isn’t.

하지만 그건 아니다.

It’s curiosity, sharpened by the possibility of losing you.

그건 당신을 잃을 수도 있다는 가능성으로 날카로워진 호기심일 뿐이다.
